Andrew McAttee in the Attic, 25th & 26th of October 2012

We are pleased to announce our next show with Andrew McAttee on the 25th and 26th of October 2012. You may be familiar with Andrew’s work from his early years with Elms Lesters Painting Rooms (1997 – 2007) where he exhibited alongside Ron English, Adam Neate, Space Invader, Dalek and Delta – or perhaps you’ve seen his more recent work for Sony Playstation. Andrew McAttee was recently featured in the London Metro for his upcoming auction at Bonhams Urban Art auction in LA (see excerpt below). What happened in the Attic?

On Thursday 28th of June 2012 we celebrated the opening of Something in the Attic at the top of a victorian building in the heart of London. As people mingled and champagne was served, we released an exclusive screen print created by David Shillinglaw and DJ Stavef created a soundtrack to the art. The evening went on and David gave a talk on the importance of art: not his art, but art as a medium for expressing one’s self. An exhibition of David Shillinglaw’s Art on the 28th & 29th June 2012

The first “Something in the Attic” event will take place in Notting Hill, London on the 28th and 29th of June 2012, bringing together art, music and charity for 2 nights only. The opening will mark the release of an exclusive screen print created by David Shillinglaw, whilst other works for sale will include original drawings and paintings curated specifically for the attic space. The art will be contextualised through a talk by David on his work and the urban art community. 50% of the art sales will go directly to Kith & Kids, a London-based charity focused on supporting people with disabilities.
